The top picture is of Charlotte Dome from Junction Meadow on the Bubbs Creek trail (KCNP); the middle picture is from the the west side of Mt Whitney (SNP); and the bottom one is of Upper Basin, coming down the south side of Mather Pass on the John Muir Pass. Black Rock Pass

This photo was taken on the trail leading up to the western approach of Black Rock Pass. The trail notes are a bit sketchy, It's about 2 hours from Big Arroyo to Little Five Lakes, then it's 2 miles from there to the top of the pass. However, the notes describe them as "extended industrial strength Sierra miles." The view from the top is rather cool, especially towards the west; one can see Mt. Whitney from that vantage point.

Hopefully I have a whole new batch of photographs from this region after September. It is a popular hike because it is part of the High Sierra Trail, which I hiked in 2001. I'm hoping to hike the Black Rock Pass loop. Map is forth coming, along with other images.
